This sent further ripples in Tollywood after the complainant took to FB to announce that she wanted to get “arrested” since she deserved punishment. Kolkata: Make-up guild secretary Bapi Malakar, who was named in a plaint by an assistant make-up artist, was arrested on Thursday.
Some months back, the 42-year-old assistant make-up artist and a resident of Regent Park, had filed the primary complaint. On Aug 20 last year she had come to Suruchi Sangha to meet Biswas for work when the FIR accused asked for money and threatened her that if she did not give money she would not get work, according to the complaint. On April 4, she again approached the accused who told her if she wanted to work she had to sexually compromise with them. The complaint said when she refused, the accused tried to kill her using arms at her home on April 10.
Though the complainant had later retracted her statement against ex-federation president Swarup Biswas, cops had clarified that the probe would continue “unhindered.
