Kolkata: The decomposed body of an 84-year-old man was found inside his home at Purbachal Cluster 2 under Bidhannagar South Police Station on Friday afternoon.

Officers said they found no immediate indication of foul play though the exact circumstances of his death were yet to be ascertained. Neighbours said they had not seen Banerjee for around three days. Rabindranath Banerjee lived alone after his wife died several years ago. Following a foul smell coming from his flat, neighbours alerted police.
