A customs department statement said, “There was intelligence by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Ahmedabad zonal office, that the passenger could be smuggling narcotic substances into India. Sources close to the development said that the man had booked a hotel room in the city. As a flight from Qatar’s capital, Doha, landed in the city, customs officers were on alert as they had intel on a Ugandan national. He was intercepted upon arrival. The source and destination of the contraband are yet to be determined.
