Gorakhpur : Sejal Gupta, an alumna of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), won a silver medal, securing second place at the Asian Bench Press Championship being held in Istanbul, Turkey, by lifting 92.5 kg on Sept 24.
Earlier, she won a silver medal in the 63 kg junior category at the 33rd National sub-junior, Junior, Senior and Masters Bench Press Championship held in Vasco da Gama, Goa, in Oct 2025, with a lift of 72.5 kg. She then clinched gold in the same category at the 34th National Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Masters Bench Press Championship in Faridabad, Haryana, in Jan 2026, improving her lift to 87.5 kg. Sejal, a Mechanical Engineering graduate, has shown a steady improvement in bench press.
At the Asian Championship, Sejal further enhanced her performance by lifting 92.5 kg, marking another milestone in her sporting career.
