25-year-old Premanand Maharaj disciple named Deepak Lodhi met a tragic end at Gau Kripa Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan
AGRA: A 25-year-old seeker associated with spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj allegedly died after jumping from the fourth floor of an ashram in Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, police said on Saturday. Police said Deepak jumped from the fourth floor of Gau Kripa Kunj Ashram near Varah Ghat around 10.30am on Friday. Police said around 40-50 seekers associated with Premanand Maharaj stay at Gau Kripa Kunj, a recently constructed four-storey ashram where they engage in spiritual practices and worship Radha Rani.
Police said his body was sent for postmortem examination. He fell on the road, about six feet from the ashram building. Other seekers at the ashram rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Soon after being informed, local police reached the spot and inspected the ashram. A forensic team was also called to examine the scene and collect evidence. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding Deepak’s death and the injury to his body. The postmortem and forensic findings are expected to provide further clues.
The further course of investigation will become clear after the postmortem report is received,” DSP Vrindavan Sandeep Kumar said.
