Born Brandi Alexis Reed on June 23, 1983, she first became known through WWE before moving into other wrestling promotions. Brandi and Cody Rhodes have been married since September 2013 and have two daughters. Before entering professional wrestling, she spent 17 years as a competitive figure skater. Her wrestling journey began in 2011 when she signed a developmental contract with WWE. In 2014, she became the regular ring announcer and backstage interviewer for SmackDown and Main Event. Brandi left WWE in 2016, shortly after Cody Rhodes departed the company. In 2016, she made her Impact debut alongside Cody. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Liberty Iris Runnels, in June 2021. They later welcomed their second daughter, Leilani Ella Runnels, in 2025. Brandi Rhodes was born in Canton, Michigan, and grew up near Detroit. She started skating at the age of four before eventually choosing academics and broadcasting. Brandi earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She later moved to Miami and completed a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami. Before wrestling, she worked as a local news reporter and also pursued modelling and acting. She was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling and initially worked under the name Brandi. She later became known as Eden Stiles and worked primarily as a ring announcer. She also appeared on NXT, SmackDown and Main Event. She also made her pay-per-view ring announcing debut at Hell in a Cell. She then expanded her wrestling career. She worked for promotions including Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and World Wonder Ring Stardom. She later competed in the Women of Honor division in ROH and joined the Oedo Tai stable in Stardom. She was appointed Chief Brand Officer and also worked as a wrestler. She made her AEW in-ring debut at Fight for the Fallen, defeating Allie with interference from Awesome Kong. During her AEW run, Brandi was involved in several major storylines. She also formed The Nightmare Sisters with Allie. Brandi later stepped away from full-time wrestling.
