Police said Jain was walking with his younger sister from their house to board their school van when a mini truck came through the road. However, as the driver moved the mini truck forward, Jain was trapped between the vehicle and the wall and sustained severe crush injuries, police said. The deceased, Jain Judes, was a son of a fisherman at St Thomas Street at Thoothur. On noticing the vehicle, the boy moved to the left and stood close to a compound wall to make way for it. His mother and relatives rushed to the spot and took him to Kuzhithurai govt hospital. However, doctors declared that he was brought dead.
