Hubballi : In view of the nationwide strike called by bank unions from Sept 28 to 30, public sector banks (PSBs) and regional rural banks (RRBs) will remain operational on Sunday, as per the directions issued by the Union govt and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), to minimise disruption to banking services.
Dharwad district lead bank manager Basavaraj Gadadavar stated in a press release that the special working day has been arranged keeping in view the possibility of interruption in branch-level banking services during the three-day nationwide strike.
“The measure is intended to provide customers an opportunity to complete their essential banking transactions before the strike period. Public, govt departments, businesses, farmers and other bank customers in the district can make use of the banking facilities available on Sunday, and complete any important transactions that require branch-level services. Customers who have urgent requirements relating to cash deposits or withdrawals, account-related services, cheque transactions and other branch-based banking work are advised to visit their respective bank branches on Sunday itself” he added.
