BJP Leaders Contribute to Maharashtra Drought Relief
On Saturday, BJP Thane announced that Davkhare has made a donation to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, aimed at supporting farmers in drought-affected regions of Maharashtra. In a show of solidarity, Chavan opted to forgo his birthday celebrations to contribute to the same relief efforts. Both leaders have called on political workers and social organizations to aid farmers struggling due to the drought.
Activist Dayanand Nene from the ‘Wake Up Thanekar’ group has urged the government to halt new approvals and expansions of water-intensive hyperscale data centers, particularly one under construction at Balkum-Majiwada. In his appeal to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Nene emphasized the need to prioritize water for drinking and agricultural use, advocating for the adoption of treated wastewater, recycling, and water-efficient cooling systems.
