Kanpur: Anupriya Patel, the national president of Apna Dal (S) and Union minister of state, criticized the Samajwadi Party and Congress for allegedly pursuing power through deception. Speaking on Saturday, she urged voters to support Ghatampur MLA Saroj Kureel in the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Addressing a party meeting at Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janata Mahavidyalaya ground in Ghatampur, Patel said SP claimed to support backward classes but never worked for their benefit. She said this support had helped Apna Dal emerge as Uttar Pradesh’s third-largest political force. Patel also claimed the caste-based census was initiated following a demand by Apna Dal (S). She asked people to remain cautious of SP and Congress, saying backward classes and Dalits had no value in those parties.
