Nashik : A 42-year-old bag seller suffered a severe injury to his right ear after a 22-year-old man allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon in Ambad late on Friday. Police arrested the accused on Saturday.
The victim, Mangesh Satpute of Bhabhanagar, was attacked around 10.30pm outside a flower kiosk in Cidco, police said.
Police said the man allegedly slapped Satpute and swung a sharp weapon at his head. Satpute dodged the blow, but the weapon struck his right ear, causing a severe injury. The attacker allegedly struck him twice on the back before Satpute’s friends intervened. Ambad police have booked Burade under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing hurt and grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.
Senior inspector Jayant Shirsat, of the Ambad police station, said, “The accused was arrested on Saturday afternoon. He will be produced before court on Sunday for custodial remand.
