Chitradurga : Twelve pilgrims from Honnuru village in Chamarajanagar district were injured after their tempo traveller hit a road divider and overturned near Kodihalli in Challakere on NH-150 on Sunday.
The group of 14 was travelling from Yelandur to Mantralayam to visit the Raghavendra Swamy temple. They had started the journey around 11 pm on Saturday. Police said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle after dozing off at the wheel, causing it to hit the divider and overturn. Stay updated with the latest Hubballi news.
The accident disrupted traffic on the highway for some time until the vehicle was removed using a crane. Talaku police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Relatives rushed to the hospitals after being informed of the accident. Download the TOI App.
The injured have been identified as Nagaraj, Navya, Divya, Puttamma, Shamitha, Latha, Yoshika, Hemalatha, Amrutha, Sowmya, Madalambike and Mohan. They were shifted to Chitradurga District Hospital and Basaveshwara Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
