Amid letter war between two leaders, who had locked horns during 2024 assembly poll for Gangapur seat with Bamb defeating Chavan by a narrow margin of around 5,000 votes, leaders of ZP teachers said they want justice for affected teachers. Chavan had objected to Bamb’s reported remarks questioning the need for teacher and graduate MLAs.
He said teachers should visit students’ homes, interact with parents and support weaker students instead of spending hours commuting daily. In his reply, Bamb said his argument was that, with legislators now being educated across the board, the existing arrangement could be reconsidered. He said he had suggested representation from groups such as Anganwadi workers, women’s self-help groups and unorganised workers. We do not want to side with any of the leaders or party, but seek immediate relief for the teachers,” Rajesh Hiwale, one of the teachers’ leaders, said.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : A letter war has erupted between BJP MLA Prashant Bamb and NCP MLC Satish Chavan over action against zilla parishad teachers, with the two leaders trading sharp letters over teacher accountability, rural education and the role of the graduates’ constituency. Bamb also alleged irregularities by sections of the teaching community, including submission of false documents and other violations. He used the issue to argue that enforcing service rules was necessary to improve accountability in the govt-school system. The exchange has also spilled into the question of teacher and graduate constituencies. “What began as a dispute over teachers’ increments and headquarters attendance has now widened into a political face-off.
