TTP suspicion after 3 traffic cops killed in Pakistan gun attack (ANI file photo)
The suicide bombing killed at least 13 people and wounded over 30 others.
The attackers fled the area after the shooting, local police official Jamshed Khan said. The attack took place in Wazirabad Bazaar in Tank district when suspected militants on motorcycles opened fire on a vehicle carrying the traffic police. No group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack. Police are likely to suspect the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has carried out several attacks in the region. The TTP is a separate group from Afghanistan’s Taliban but is allied with it. The attack on police officials came two days after ‘fidayeen’ bomb blast in Dera Ismail Khan city in the same province. Gunmen also opened fire on an ambulance that arrived at the scene. The TTP claimed responsibility for that attack.
Three traffic police officers were killed and three others injured in a gun attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, the Associated Press cited police.
