“They say 14 demands have been resolved. Vikhe Patil claims 12 demands have been fulfilled. Addressing the media, Gaykar launched a sharp attack on both Vikhe Patil and Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, accusing them of misleading the community while failing to produce concrete outcomes.
Protesters said the agitation was an attempt to “awaken” both govt and the community to the unresolved demands surrounding Maratha quota. The Maratha community’s trust has been betrayed,” Gaykar said. He too should release the GRs and show the community what has actually been achieved,” he said.
“Both Vikhe Patil and Jarange are responsible. It was a match-fixing game of ‘you pretend to cry, I’ll pretend to hit’. Questioning repeated claims of progress, he demanded documentary proof from both sides. Where is govt resolution? Jarange should make it public. “The entire Maratha community united for the dignity of our mothers and sisters. But when two women recently expressed their anger, they were subjected to abuse and trolling by Jarange’s supporters. Is this Maratha culture? Gaykar asked. Calling for accountability, he urged movement leaders to uphold the community’s values and provide transparent answers on the status of reservation-related commitments rather than making shifting claims and promises.
Nashik : Members of the Maratha community, led by state coordinator Karan Gaykar, staged a protest outside the Nashik office of water resources minister and cabinet sub-committee chairperson on Maratha reservation Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil on Sunday, demanding clarity on the implementation of quota-related assurances.
