Shalu was released from jail after being wrongfully implicated in the murder of her father-in-law, Vineet Minocha.
Police arrested his son Subrat on Sept 24 on charges of murdering him. Because of which his mother Puneeta lived separately, subrat told the media that his father had relationships with several women,. Police released her after completing the necessary formalities.
Her brother, Dheeraj Arora, said the same police who had sent her to jail subsequently cleared her after investigation. Police initially investigated Shalu, Subrat and the family’s former domestic help Vishal. A money dispute and call records had emerged during the investigation. The court directed Shalu to appear whenever summoned by it or the investigating officer.
Shalu, jailed in connection with the murder of Kanpur medicine trader Vineet Minocha, was released late on Monday after a court ordered her immediate release, holding that she had no role in her father-in-law’s killing. Police had initially named Shalu as an accused but later found her innocent and submitted a closure report in court on Friday.
Dheeraj said Shalu would travel directly to her maternal home in Lucknow rather than return to her in-laws’ flat at Ratan Orbit in Kanpur. Her son Shrijay is staying with the family in Lucknow.
