The Telangana high court has instructed DGP CV Anand to identify police officers involved in misbehavior with women BRS MLAs
During the debate on the 22-A prohibited list in the Assembly, Reddy accused the BRS of creating a pandemonium in the House, alleging that it feared discussions on issues including the alleged plundering of government lands, fee reimbursement, the drought situation and occult rituals performed by some individuals. BRS MLAs had approached the high court alleging that police officers misbehaved with them during a protest at the Assembly gate, news agency ANI reported. Reddy alleged that BRS MLAs verbally abused police, staged a semi-nude protest and insulted the Speaker, ANI reported. The chief minister also pointed out that the previous government had formulated certain rules regarding the conduct of House proceedings. HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court has directed director general of police (DGP) CV Anand to identify police officials who allegedly misbehaved with women BRS MLAs during a protest on the first day of the Assembly session, according to the BRS party legal team. Taking up the plea, the high court directed the DGP to identify the officials allegedly involved. The chief minister also criticised BRS members for not supporting the Speaker, who had allowed them to attend the session even after opposition members allegedly hurled abuses at the Chair. The Speaker had permitted the legislators to attend the session, expecting them to apologise to the Chair and participate in the debate on public issues. However, the BRS MLAs allegedly created a ruckus in the House, following which the Speaker was forced to suspend them. “Respecting the Speaker is a tradition for the members. Earlier, Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy criticised the BRS for allegedly obstructing the Assembly session, alleging that the opposition had conspired to stall the proceedings, fearing that their alleged misdeeds would come to light during debates on land issues.
