VIRAR: A video of a passenger allegedly drinking alcohol from a glass bottle inside a Virar-Churchgate local train has gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place in a local that left platform 3 of Virar railway station for Churchgate at around 11.50am on Monday. Vasai railway police said they had received the video and were verifying the incident. The passenger is seen standing near the door of the disabled coach and drinking beer while the train is in motion. A passenger standing on the opposite platform recorded the incident on his mobile phone. In the video, the man is seen standing at the doorway of the coach reserved for persons with disabilities and drinking from a glass bottle. He later allegedly threw the bottle onto the railway tracks. The incident has triggered concern among commuters, with passengers questioning discipline and security on suburban trains.
