On Tuesday, the state cabinet approved the inspection of 1970 orders of allotment of land at Newale in Palghar district to agricultural labourers and freedom fighters in which terms and conditions have been violated and PAPs do not have actual possession. The rights records (7/12 extract) will be cancelled and corrected records will be prepared. In cases where neither the allotment order is available nor the concerned person is recorded on the 7/12, but actual cultivation is found, the available evidence will be inspected. Among such encroachments, considering the family as a unit, agricultural encroachment of up to a maximum of 2 acres will be regularised at the same location as a special case, said a govt press release.
