Kanpur: Given a clean cit by cops and released from jail after 21 days, Shalu Minocha (30) alleged that her husband, Subrat, had falsely implicated her and said she endured severe mental and physical suffering during her incarceration.
Police arrested Subrat on Sept 24 on charges of murdering his father.
Recalling the day of the incident, Shalu said she was shocked when she opened the room door and saw her father-in-law Vineet Minocha lying in a pool of blood. She had conveyed this to Subrat, but he ignored it, according to her. He feared that a woman might claim she was expecting Vineet’s child, according to Subrat.
Police initially investigated Shalu, Subrat and former domestic help Vishal Gautam after a money dispute and call records emerged during the probe. He allegedly engaged Vishal and the latter’s associate, Rajkishore, to kill Minocha.
She alleged that shortly before the incident, Vineet had again scolded Vishal and driven him away.
