Pune: A man (19) was allegedly assaulted by four youths, including one armed with a country-made pistol, at Meenatai Thackeray Vasahat in Gultekdi on Sunday night. Police said that the injured man has a friendship with some local youths. The complainant was standing in the Vasahat area waiting for his friends when the suspects arrived at the spot. They questioned him on why he was standing there and why he was moving around with the youngsters from the area who are from the rival camp. One of the suspects pulled out a pistol and issued threats to the injured man, and later they assaulted him with bamboo sticks. Police are searching for the four youths. The injured man lodged a complaint with the Swargate police station on Monday. Police registered a case of assault and a case under the Indian Arms Act against the four youths on Monday.
