The 20-year-old daughter of Apollo Tyres owner Neeraj Kanwar and his wife, Simran Kanwar, will appear at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes 2026 in November, and she’s the only debutante from India this year. As Paris prepares for another stylish young debutante, India has only one name to follow: Syra Kanwar. Syra is a student of Economics and Mathematics at the prestigious Barnard College and is ready to trade her lecture sessions for one of the most exclusive ballrooms in Paris.
The organisation was established in 1958 at the Château de Versailles and, after being brought back in 1992 by Ophelie Renouard, it gathers for an invite-only charitable event for 20 to 25 teenage girls aged between 16 and 22 coming from elite families across the globe.
The elite of the fashion world often refer to Le Bal as “the Met Gala for teenagers”. The ambience in the Kanwars’ luxurious home in Mayfair, London, gives off proper ‘Bridgerton’ vibes, with Simran, wife of Apollo Tyres owner Neeraj Kanwar, busy preparing her daughter for her major social debut, while Syra remains humble.
Without a doubt, fashion remains the core feature of Le Bal. Debutants are brought into haute couture workshops and have the opportunity to wear stunning pieces of jewellery. Reports from their photo shoots in Mayfair with Le Bal Paris show Syra looking divine in a stunning piece. However, her gown for the official event will impress everyone. As per a news report in the Hindustan Times, Syra has chosen a custom-made creation by famous Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika. She even expressed her delight, saying she is crazy about several other works he has done.
