Kanpur: A 63-year-old woman, said to be mentally unwell, allegedly jumped into the Kali river in Katinna Manikpur gram panchayat of Farrukhabad district on Wednesday morning and remained untraced till the filing of the report.
The woman reached the river around 9 am and jumped into it while her grandson, Deepak , was present at the spot, according to police. After receiving information about the incident, police from Mohammadabad police station launched a search operation in the river with the help of local villagers. An NDRF team was awaited to assist in the search.
