Gadkari said that while this specific project does not fall under his department, Tat Mill Crossing does connect to the National Highway. The minister took cognisance and assured her that action would be taken in this regard. Additionally, the mayor requested that a six-lane elevated corridor extending from Mall Road (via Narauna Crossing, Ghantaghar, and Tat Mill Crossing) to Kidwai Nagar South-Ex Mall be constructed. He noted that since work on the GT Road elevated corridor is set to commence, the possibility of connecting this route would be considered. The Union minister informed the mayor that work was set to begin soon on connecting Kanpur to the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway and constructing a new highway from Naubasta to Sagar. Furthermore, he requested the mayor to inspect the progress of the Ring Road currently under construction in the city and to ensure its early completion, thereby providing relief to the city residents from traffic congestion.
Kanpur: Mayor Pramila Pandey on Wednesday met with Union minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and urged that a concrete road be constructed from IIT Kalyanpur to Gol Chauraha with a drainage system.
