Lucknow: LMC is among six urban local bodies in Uttar Pradesh selected under Centre’s ‘PRAGATI 50’ initiative for focused monitoring and improvement of sanitation and urban services. The initiative, launched under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, was discussed at a video conference chaired by Union housing and urban affairs minister Manohar Lal on Tuesday.
He said the selected urban local bodies would receive technical support and focused monitoring to improve civic services and meet targets within stipulated timelines. Kharkwal said the initiative would help strengthen source segregation, waste management, sanitation monitoring and citizen participation in Lucknow. Kumar said the civic body would focus on regular monitoring, scientific waste disposal and timely achievement of targets.
UP urban development minister AK Sharma directed civic bodies to regularly review progress in solid waste management, wastewater management, public sanitation and citizen engagement.
