NEW DELHI: Sanskriti School in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri has received forged disability certificates for nursery admissions under the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) category for the 2026-27 academic session. Police sources said a senior school official wrote to Chanakyapuri police on Sept 16, seeking verification of three recommendatory letters and accompanying disability certificates submitted by parents seeking admission under CwSN quota.

The school told police it suspected the recommendatory letters from directorate of education, as well as the medical certificates, were not genuine and sought their verification.

The exact date and time of the forgery could not be ascertained. Police will now verify the origin of the recommendatory letters, establish how the disability certificates were forged and submitted and identify those involved in the fraud. Verification of the documents purportedly issued by the hospital will also form part of the investigation. A response was sought from the school, but it had not responded till the time of publication.
