Farmers joined authorities in removing pump sets installed at the Tungabhadra reservoir to supply water to industries
TOI had reported that water was being supplied to industries despite a shortage in the Tungabhadra reservoir. The report had also highlighted allegations that water was being released to industries in violation of a govt order.
Reacting to the development, Koppal district minister Shivaraj Tangadagi said show-cause notices had been issued to the officials concerned. The removal of the pump sets began after farmers staged a protest against the supply of reservoir water to industries.
