Mumbai: Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh mandal has declared earnings of Rs 3.22 crore from its annual auction of gold and silver offerings which took place Wednesday evening. Coupled with cash donations of Rs 6.11 crore, this catapults its Ganeshotsav 2026 revenue to Rs 9.3 crore.
“The highest sum of Rs 1.55 crore was bid for a gold bar weighing one kilogram. We received a total of 85 items, all of which were sold,” said mandal treasurer Mangesh Dalvi. On Thursday, the rate of 24-carat gold was approximately Rs 1,50,000 per 10 gm, while silver stood at Rs 2,35,000 per kilo. The stage peti netted Rs 3.35 crore, while the ‘raang’ peti collected Rs 2.42 crore. Thereafter, a third visarjan peti saw devotees contribute Rs 16.1 lakh.
