Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of rooftop solar installations in the country in Sept under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, with 74,796 rooftop solar plants installed during the month, according to state govt data. Andhra Pradesh ranked second with 69,813 installations, followed by Maharashtra with 60,907. Gujarat recorded 45,616 installations, while Kerala reported 30,315 during the month. Uttar Pradesh averaged 2,493 rooftop solar installations a day in Sept, with its highest single-day installation figure of 3,389 on Sept 30. The state installed 29,180 more rooftop solar systems than Gujarat and 13,889 more than Maharashtra in Sept. Of the 4,38,815 rooftop solar installations recorded nationwide during the month, UP accounted for nearly 17%. As of Sept 30, UP had recorded a cumulative 8,67,755 rooftop solar installations under the scheme, with a total installed capacity of 2,911.39MW. In cumulative installations, Gujarat remained marginally ahead with 8,70,152 installations, just 2,397 more than Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra had recorded 8,27,182 cumulative installations.
