Nagpur: The sessions court on Thursday issued summons to Dr AP Narad of Mayo Hospital, Nagpur, who conducted autopsy on Mond Hussain Mustafa in the Ram Jhula hit-and-run case allegedly involving Ritika alias Ritu Dinesh Maloo and others.
The matter was listed for evidence before Additional Sessions Judge Brahmanand M Dhanure.
He directed RFSL office and the officer concerned to furnish the chemical analysis and CCTV footage reports as early as possible, and in any case on or before Nov 1, 2026. The judge allowed the application.
The next date for the trial is scheduled for Oct 17. Because forensic reports are pending, the court noted that a trial cannot be held up only. At the same time, it said the reports must come on record so that the hearing can move smoothly and the defence also has the material.
The court said the full bill book, along with the voucher, can be brought at that stage for proper assessment of the evidence. During the hearing, the defence argued that the entire bill book, and not only the voucher in the name of Ritika Maloo, should be produced. The voucher relates to payment of bills for liquor she had consumed with a friend. Khaparde submitted that this can be done when the witness connected with that voucher is examined.
She told the court that the RFSL reports were still awaited. Additional public prosecutor Rashmi Khaparde appeared for the prosecution and pressed an application seeking direction to Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), Nagpur, to place the chemical analysis reports and the CCTV footage report on record.
