Nagpur: Three fatal road accidents were reported in and around the city. Cops registered cases of rash driving and causing death by negligence, including against a man driving a car without a valid licence.
Ravindra Chanore (67), a resident of Jaitala Road, was riding a scooter when an unidentified vehicle hit him near Alankar Chowk on North Ambazari Road. In the third incident, Roshan, a resident of Kirnapur, was riding a moped towards Bhandara when a mini truck hit him from behind on Sept 30. He suffered serious head injuries and was admitted to GMCH. He was declared dead during treatment. Sitabuldi police registered a case against the unknown driver. Driver Ashid Roy, a resident of Hooghly district in West Bengal, was charged with driving at high speed and in a rash manner.
In the Hudkeshwar case, Devidas Tembre (25) died when the car he was travelling in hit a parked vehicle. Police charged Pranay Harinkhede (22) and Sagar Mahalle (33) of Punapur, Pardi, for the accident. Investigation revealed Pranay Harinkhede, who does not hold a licence, was driving the car at high speed.
A minor was also travelling in the car.
