Kochi: Aluva West Police have registered an FIR against Sree Narayana Guru College, Coimbatore, and its department head following allegations of cheating.
The complaint is that Muraleedharan was allegedly cheated of Rs 26,000 after being promised that his research paper would be published in Kanpur Philosophers Journal, a journal included in UGC-CARE List. The complainant alleged that he later discovered that his article was not published in the genuine Kanpur Philosophers Journal but in a clone journal, the FIR says. Professor and head of the department of social work Maria Yesuraja has also been named in the FIR. Download the TOI App.
He filed a private complaint before the judicial first-class magistrate court, Aluva, which forwarded the complaint to the police for appropriate action. The FIR was registered on Saturday based on a complaint filed by PhD scholar Sachu Muraleedharan.
