Kanpur: Bright sunshine pushed the maximum temperature to 32.8°C on Thursday, 0.6°C below normal; however, high humidity made the weather feel considerably hotter.
The apparent temperature around noon was nearly 40°C, leaving residents uncomfortable despite moderate winds. North-westerly winds blew at a speed of 3.6 to 5.3 kmph, offering little relief from the heat. The maximum relative humidity was recorded at 81%. The minimum temperature, however, settled at 21.8°C, making the night relatively comfortable.
Weather expert at Chandra Shekhar Azad University, S N Sunil Pandey, said that clouds may appear over some areas during the afternoon over the next three days, but mostly the sky will remain clear.
