The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered hanging in a hotel room in Bahraich
LUCKNOW: The bodies of a 27-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were found hanging in a hotel room in Bahraich in the early hours of Friday, police said. The two had been staying at Kailash Hotel in the Kotwali area since September 22 and had reportedly told hotel staff that they had come to the city in search of jobs.
The two had checked into the hotel nine days ago, according to hotel staff. The staff said they had not noticed anything suspicious about their behaviour during their stay. When a hotel employee knocked on their door and received no response, the hotel management alerted the police. At around 8pm, police reached the hotel and broke open the room door. The two were found hanging inside the room.
On Thursday, the two had breakfast in the morning but did not order any further food.
Police examined the hotel register and other records as part of the investigation. Rinku’s identity was established from the Aadhaar card he had submitted at the hotel.
