2 arrested over bid to grab ex-MP CM Kamal Nath's land — Fake death certificate, forged will

BIJNOR: Najibabad police arrested two men on Thursday evening in connection with an alleged conspiracy to grab 2.156 hectares of agricultural land belonging to MP’s former CM Kamalnath, a resident of Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, by preparing a forged death certificate and fake will. The case was registered under Sections 61(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3) and 340(2) of the BNS after complainant Kamal Nath , son of the late Mahendra Nath, approached Najibabad police on September 30, according to Bijnor superintendent of police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi. Police said Dharmapal has two previous cases registered against him at Bijnor City police station under various sections of the IPC in 2016, apart from the present case.

The accused allegedly prepared a fabricated death certificate and forged will in the name of Mahendra Nath and produced the documents before a court with the intention of taking control of the property, police said. Vijay Shankar has no other criminal case listed in the police record provided. Acting on a tip-off, a Najibabad police team arrested Dharmapal Singh, a resident of Mahawatpur Billoch, and Vijay Shankar, originally from Barthi village in Deoria district and currently residing in Shyamli, Najibabad, on Thursday evening.
