Ariana Grande has spent much of her career under a microscope, with everything from her makeup and hairstyles to her changing appearance becoming a topic of conversation online. But when it comes to cosmetic procedures, the singer has been pretty open about what she has and hasn’t had done.
In Vogue’s Beauty Secrets video, she revealed that she had used lip filler and Botox in the past but stopped in 2018 because she felt she had gone “too much”. “For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me,” Grande said at the time, explaining that she had once used makeup, hair and other beauty choices as ways to hide behind her appearance. She also spoke about how her relationship with beauty had changed as she got older. That relationship with beauty looks different for her now.
Because celebrity beauty is often discussed through speculation, before-and-after pictures and endless guesses about what someone may or may not have had done, grande’s comments stand out. At the same time, she has made it clear that her decision isn’t a rule for anyone else. For Grande, beauty has become less about hiding and more about feeling comfortable with what she sees in the mirror. And perhaps that’s the most interesting part of her beauty evolution.
