The first 12 stations of Pune Metro Line 3, covering the 13-km Maan to R K Laxman Museum stretch, are ready for operations after receiving provisional CMRS authorisation on July 23.

Around 96.5% of the Metro Line 3 project has been completed. Minor staircase-related work is still underway at some of the 12 completed stations before the operational stretch is formally inaugurated. The Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro project spans 23.3 km and has faced several delays. Its latest completion deadline has been extended to March 31, 2027, while the remaining stations are expected to open in phases. PMRDA had proposed making all 23 stations operational by December 2026. The concession extension proposal until March 2027 is intended to provide additional time for residual civil works and other project obligations.
The formal inauguration date for the operational stretch has not been announced. Sakalnagar, University, RBI and District Court are the four remaining stations. PMRDA is completing the work and preparing to upload the required data for CMRS inspection and safety clearance. The safety clearance process for the four remaining stations is likely to begin soon, with the required details being uploaded. Once CMRS approval is received, the stations will be added to the operational section. PMRDA officials have sought a date, while the authorities are yet to confirm the schedule for starting operations.
