A plantation drive was organised at the NCR HQ under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative
The campaign, held from Sept 17 to Oct 2, concluded at NCR headquarters in Prayagraj on Friday, coinciding with Swachh Bharat Diwas and the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. A total of 4,770 programmes and activities were organised across the zone As part of the campaign, 555 Swachhata Pathshalas were organised to promote cleanliness awareness among young people, while 116 safety camps were held for sanitation workers, according to railway officials. Another 837 public participation programmes brought approximately 55,000 people into the campaign. The zone also conducted 284 activities under the Swachhata Se Samriddhi initiative and 124 special cleanliness programmes. A plantation drive was organised at the headquarters under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, as NCR works towards its target of planting two crore saplings during the 2026-27 financial year.
