A scuffle erupted near Shiv Sena Bhavan in Dadar after a protest
Mumbai Police had earlier denied permission for the CJP to hold its October 2 protest at Shivaji Park. Pillai arrived at Shivaji Park around 4.30pm to attend the protest.
Mumbai Police later said the situation was under control and peaceful. This protest should not take place,” the resident said, adding that such demonstrations disturb peace in the area. The party later announced a “Jail Bharo Andolan”. Police said doctors attributed his death to a heart attack.
MUMBAI: A scuffle broke out near Shiv Sena Bhavan in Dadar after supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) returned from a protest at Shivaji Park. The situation soon turned physical, prompting police to intervene and disperse those involved. The incident followed a CJP protest at Shivaji Park over the party’s demands concerning Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. “They are doing it forcefully. Around 5pm, he complained of chest pain. His friend and police personnel at the spot helped take him to Sushrusha Hospital in Shivaji Park. Police personnel tried to revive him with CPR before he was taken to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Before the protest, a Dadar resident had opposed the demonstration.
