The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

New Delhi: The city recorded another warm day as the maximum temperature touched 36.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The heat index or feels-like temperature was 40.2 degrees Celsius at 2.30pm. However, the city may get a brief respite with possible light rain or drizzle Tuesday.

TOI had reported Monday that this Oct has started on a warmer note, with the maximum temperature staying above 35 degrees Celsius. It touched 37.1 degrees Celsius Saturday, making it the hottest Oct day in two years. It was 36.4 degrees Celsius the previous day.

IMD officials said clear skies and no significant rain in the past 15 days have led the maximum temperature to remain above normal. The maximum temperature is likely to stay around 36 degrees Celsius Tuesday and 35 degrees Celsius Wednesday. It may dip to 33 degrees Celsius by Friday. The minimum temperature was reported at 23.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. It is likely to remain between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius over the next few days.

“No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected during the next 24 hours and a fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the subsequent 3-4 days,” said a Met official.
