As part of corrective measures, new tiles have been installed, cleaning and cooking areas have been separated
We will resume operations at the BL Saha Road unit from Oct 10 or 11,” said Rishav Mullick, a director of the company. The New Alipore unit has eight stores under its umbrella, while the sweets manufacturer’s Bhowanipore factory has 18 stores.
Kolkata: The New Alipore factory of sweets manufacturer Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick is set to resume operations after KMC lifted its suspension order, a company director said. Sudip Mullick, a director who manages the Bhowanipore unit, said the two establishments had no connection and operated independently. The civic body had issued a ‘suspension of licence’ notice to the factory, in the first week of Sept, after food safety inspectors found that the premises did not meet the required cleanliness standards. “We took corrective measures. We were manufacturing our products from an alternative unit. As part of corrective measures, new tiles have been installed, cleaning and cooking areas have been separated. The two factories are now managed by separate branches of the Mullick family.
KMC inspected our premises on Saturday and gave us the nod to resume operations on Monday.
