Thrissur : KPCC secretary John Daniel has submitted a complaint to chief minister V D Satheesan seeking action against former CPM Palakkad district secretary E N Suresh Babu, who is facing sexual abuse charges.

He said media reports indicated that, despite receiving the complaint, the CPM brass attempted to hush up the matter as an internal party issue and failed to hand it over to the police. In his letter to the CM, Daniel alleged that the complaint against Babu, a prominent public figure, raises serious concerns about the safety of women active in public life. Daniel also demanded action against leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary M V Govindan for allegedly failing to inform the police even after receiving a complaint of sexual abuse.
