The arrested accused were identified as Keshav Dagdu Mohite, Jaihind Birsha Koli (49) and Monika Vijnesh Patil (36).
NAVI MUMBAI: The Navi Mumbai Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two revenue officials and a woman assistant for allegedly accepting a Rs 1 lakh bribe from a villager in Chirner, Uran taluka, to register the names of his relatives in the 7/12 extract of a land record. The arrested accused were identified as Keshav Dagdu Mohite (52), circle officer at Koproli in Uran taluka; Jaihind Birsha Koli (49), talathi; and Monika Vijnesh Patil (36), an assistant to the revenue officials. Dharmaraj Sonake, deputy superintendent of police, Navi Mumbai ACB, said the complainant had applied to register the names of the heirs of his deceased sister in the 7/12 extract of their land in Chirner. Dy SP Sonake said, “After verification of the complaint on Monday, when it was confirmed that the revenue officers Mohite and Koli had told the complainant to hand over the bribe amount to the accused woman assistant Monika Patil, a trap was laid on Tuesday around 2 pm. After the woman assistant Monika Patil accepted the demanded bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant and handed it over to circle officer Keshav Mohite, both were caught red-handed and arrested.
While, the acccused Talathi Jaihind Koli who was involved in the bribe demand was taken into custody from Dronagiri.”
