A 26-year-old youth who rushed to save a 76-year-old man during the fire on Monday night died along with the elderly man, officials said on Tuesday. The two were identified as Avinash Kashinath Bangar (26) and Vijaykumar Basatwar (76), who was the owner of the house and resided on the first floor along with wife, son and daughter in law at the first floor. However, neither could get out and both died in the blaze, police said. “An accidental death case was registered at the Hingoli city police station on Tuesday based on information given by Basatwar’s son Naresh,” inspector Dineshsingh Thakur said. The identities of the two charred bodies of the people that died in the inferno resulting from firecrackers stock carching fire in Marwadi Galli of Kapda Bazar area of Hingoli town have been established. As the fire spread, Basatwar’s family members managed to escape. Basatwar, however, was trapped inside. Bangar rushed in to rescue him.
