NEW DELHI: A woman from Nagaland has alleged that she was harassed and her friends were assaulted in the parking area of a five-star hotel here on Oct 4. The incident took place around 3.30am. In her complaint, the 28-year-old alleged that she and a friend had come out of the washroom when three men in a white Mercedes allegedly tried to abduct them near the exit gate.

Police said the incident involved an argument and scuffle between two groups and no arrests had been made so far. Police said the kidnapping allegation was being probed. When contacted, an official at The Ashok said those involved in the incident were guests of SOHO, a separate entity and club that operates from premises leased from the hotel. The official said The Ashok hotel had no connection with the incident as those involved were guests of SOHO, a separate entity.

Multiple calls and a text message were sent to SOHO, but garnered no response. The woman alleged that when her three male friends intervened, the men attacked them with hockey sticks and punches.

A PCR call about a fight brought a police team to the hotel, where a large crowd had gathered and two groups were allegedly arguing, according to police records. Members of both groups were taken to the police station for questioning.
