A counterfeit currency syndicate allegedly involved in printing, supplying and circulating fake

Four men were arrested and suspected counterfeit Rs 500 notes worth around Rs 10.50 lakh were recovered, along with printers, paper-cutting equipment, laptops, digital devices and other printing material. New Delhi: A counterfeit currency syndicate allegedly involved in printing, supplying and circulating fake Indian currency notes has been busted by Rohini district police.

On Sept 30, police received information about the movement in Prashant Vihar. An FIR was registered at Prashant Vihar police station on Oct 1 under BNS. Police said Pushkar (56), a Jaipur resident and property dealer, allegedly coordinated the operation. Gosai (22), from Barmer, allegedly procured material and learnt the process online and through social media. Sahil (28), a Sonipat resident and graduate, allegedly helped arrange premises and procure material. Narendra (31), from Churu, allegedly assisted in procuring material and learning the process.

Joint CP Vijay Singh said dedicated teams had been working to identify and dismantle the supply chain involved in the illegal sale, transportation and distribution of fake currency in the district. A raid near Japanese Park led to the arrest of Pushkar Raj Purbia alias “Doctor”, Gosai Ram and Sahil Kharb. Further investigation, sustained interrogation and technical surveillance led police to Narendra Kumar , who was apprehended from Churu, Rajasthan . Searches at premises linked to the accused led to the recovery of printing equipment.

DCP (Rohini) Shashank Jaiswal said 21 bundles of counterfeit notes were recovered.

“Further investigation is underway to trace the source, intended destination and other members of the network,” he said.
