A 34-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter died Wednesday while undergoing treatment

Bengaluru: A 34-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter died Wednesday while undergoing treatment for the burns they sustained in a fireball explosion in their house in Vinayaka Layout, Nayandahalli. Police said gas leaked from the cylinder as the stove was being lit and suddenly caught fire, engulfing the house and injuring Karilingappa, 40, wife Lakshmamma, and their four children: 11-year-old Chaitra, 9-year-old Basava and 3-year-old twins Geetha and Girija. Her husband and three other children were also injured. The family is from Raichur and the couple worked as construction labourers.

Six members of the family, including the two deceased, suffered injuries after the explosion due to LPG leakage from a cylinder at their rented house in west Bengaluru between 6.30am and 7am on Oct 2. The victims are Lakshmamma and one of her twin daughters, Girija .
