The car was registered in the name of the deceased individual, Bhagwanprasad Gupta. Locals grew suspicious after the car remained parked along the DC Dey Road for several hours and then alerted the Entally police station. A local mechanic was brought in to break open the locks. Police immediately sent to a state-run hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause and time of death.
