The Mukane WTP project will play a vital role in ensuring long-term: The wider industry impact

One of the project’s major milestones, a 90 MLD storage tank, is currently under a continuous 48-hour concreting process that requires uninterrupted execution and monitoring. Civic officials said the storage tank, measuring 60 metres in diameter, forms a crucial part of the overall water supply augmentation plan. NMC commissioner Khatri said the 274 MLD-capacity treatment plant, being developed on nearly seven acres, is among the civic body’s most important infrastructure projects ahead of Kumbh. Simultaneously, the civic body is undertaking upgrades to pumping and distribution systems under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme to strengthen the overall water supply network, keeping in view Nashik city’s projected population growth and water demand up to 2050.

She said Kumbh-related infrastructure projects are being closely monitored through regular inspections and review meetings. All works must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and with the highest quality standards,” said Aher. Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Rs370-crore Mukane Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project has gathered momentum ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, with round-the-clock work underway on critical components of the water infrastructure project to strengthen the city’s long-term water security. The project is expected to enhance the city’s water treatment and distribution capacity and address future demand. The project also includes the laying of a major 13km water distribution pipeline network connecting Vilholi on the outskirts of Nashik to Sadhugram at Tapovan and Nilgiri Bagh in Panchavati. During the site visit, the mayor and commissioner reviewed construction activities, inspected the quality of materials being used and assessed the pace of implementation. Mayor Aher directed officials to ensure that construction progresses without compromising on quality standards. “While preparing for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, the civic body is also focusing on the city’s future needs. Nashik mayor Himgauri Aher and municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri conducted a late-night inspection of the project site near Mukane dam on Tuesday to review ongoing construction work progress and assess adherence to quality and timeline targets.
