NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old allegedly crashed an Audi car he had rented for a friend’s birthday into three vehicles in southwest Delhi’s Kishangarh, killing a pedestrian, police sources said on Thursday. The accident took place around 2.30am on October 4 near a CNG pump at the Kishangarh red light. Police seized all the vehicles, including the Audi, and registered an FIR at Kishangarh police station under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS, along with Section 3/181 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The juvenile allegedly rammed the car into three vehicles while driving recklessly, the source said. “During the investigation, police apprehended the juvenile driver and produced him before the Juvenile Justice Board through video conferencing,” said the police source. The company that leased the car to the minor has also come under the police scanner.
